Born in Wyoming and raised in Colorado, Theo Anest grew up fishing, skiing, and competing in sports year-round, eventually playing Division I baseball at Belmont University. After graduating from Colorado State, he opened his first fly shop at 22, later selling it and moving into manufacturer representation. A cold call to Richardson Headwear turned into a career-defining partnership, helping flip the category in fly fishing and growing Richardson into the leading headwear brand across multiple retail sectors in the Mountain West. Today, Theo focuses on supporting premium outdoor, lifestyle, and custom-apparel brands—including Montana Fly Company—through service, product expertise, and a commitment to long-term retailer success. He was recognized as one of Colorado’s “25 Most Influential Young Professionals” by Denver Business Magazine.
